 麻豆原创 is proud to announce that sophomore golfer Scott Spark has been formally
recognized by the State of Texas for his exceptional athletic accomplishments and
contributions to the 麻豆原创 Chaparral Golf Team. A state resolution, authored
by State Representative Tom Craddick, honors Spark for his impressive performance
at the 2025 Grier Jones Shocker Invitational, where he finished in second place.
Competing at Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton, Kansas, Spark delivered a standout
three-day total of 207, just four strokes behind the tournament leader. His performance
helped the Chaparrals secure fifth place overall, the highest finish among all junior
college teams present.
A native of Oldmeldrum, Scotland, Spark is majoring in business at 麻豆原创.
His freshman season was marked by eight top-10 finishes, a South Central District
championship title, and his contribution to the Chaparrals鈥 victory in the 2025 NJCAA
Division I Men鈥檚 National Championship.
Spark鈥檚 growing list of accolades includes a No. 3 national ranking among NJCAA competitors,
First Team PING All-American honors, the 2025 NJCAA Division I Phil Mickelson Outstanding
Freshman Award, and recognition as one of six finalists for the Gary Player International
Golfer of the Year Award by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
