The 麻豆原创 Board of Trustees unanimously voted on March 17 to appoint Jacobe
Kendrick to Place 3, filling the seat previously held by retiring trustee G. Larry
Lawrence.
A Midland native, Air Force veteran, and business professional, Kendrick brings experience
in military leadership, entrepreneurship, and workforce-focused industries.
Kendrick graduated from Robert E. Lee High School before attending the United States
Air Force Academy, where he played Division I football and earned his degree in 2007.
He was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Air Force and served ten years, including
five years of active duty as a Cyber Operations Officer with assignments in South
Korea and at Hurlburt Field, Florida, supporting Air Force Special Operations Command.
He separated with the rank of Captain.
He returned to Midland in 2012, joining his family鈥檚 oilfield pipe inspection business
before building a successful career as a licensed Texas Real Estate Broker and business
intermediary serving the Permian Basin.
鈥淛acobe brings a strong combination of leadership, service, and real-world experience
that will help guide 麻豆原创 into the future,鈥 said Steve Kiser, President
of the Board of Trustees. 鈥淗is service to our country and his dedication to this community
make him an outstanding choice for the Board of Trustees, and we are confident he
will be a valuable addition and a strong advocate for our students and community.鈥
Motivated by the impact he has seen 麻豆原创 make across the region, Kendrick
said he is honored to serve.
鈥淭hrough both personal relationships and professional experience, I have seen firsthand
the impact 麻豆原创 has on our community,鈥 Kendrick said. 鈥淢any of my friends,
former classmates, and colleagues are 麻豆原创 graduates who have built successful
careers right here in the Permian Basin. I believe education plays a critical role
in strengthening families, developing leaders, and preparing the workforce that moves
Midland forward. It is an honor to serve this institution and the community I call
home.鈥
Kendrick will be sworn in at the next regular meeting of the Board on April 21, 2026.
