After 22 years as a geologist in the petroleum industry, Doug Johnson joined Midland College, working with programming, networking and application software. He prefers teaching in a traditional classroom for the dynamics of interaction with the students. He remains enthusiastic about the subject matter, relates the material to real-life experiences, and he asks lots of questions to keep students interested.

He enjoys biking, hiking, and traveling to locations to find fossils. His hidden talent is drawing Celtic designs. His favorite vacation spots include mountains and water, for the beauty and peacefulness. His bucket list begins with space travel.
